Dr. Walmsley, DDS
Orthodontics is a specialty within dentistry that diagnoses, prevents and
treats irregularities of the teeth and face.
Many people have crowded, crooked or unevenly spaced teeth and bad bite (malocclusion). Orthodontic treatment can straighten the teeth or move them into a right position. This treatment is usually carried out in children, but some adults can benefit from it as well. Orthodontic care involves the use of corrective appliances, usually braces that can be used to straighten teeth, correct an irregular bite, close unsightly gaps and bring teeth and lips into proper alignment. Orthodontic treatment can not only improve your appearance but also the way your teeth bite together, which can make them easier to clean.
No matter what your age, orthodontics is a great way to maximize your teeth's
effectiveness in performing their functions, and create a beautiful, healthy
and well-aligned smile.
