Gum contouring is used to remove excessive gum tissue, contour asymmetrical
gum line and expose more of the crown of the tooth.
Gum contouring is a simple procedure that utilizes the latest technology, the soft tissue laser. First a local anesthtic is applied to the gums, and a laser light is then used to gently trim away excess gum tissue and sculpt the edges of the gums above the six front teeth that form the smile. As the laser is used, it seals the blood vessels and cauterizes the area, keeping the gums from bleeding. The laser also kills bacteria, thus minimizing the chances of infection and ensuring that the tissue heals quickly with little inconvenience to the patient.
Gum contouring is a modern and cost-effective technique that can quickly
reshape, smooth and balance the way your teeth and gums look and enhance your
smile with a minimum of pain and discomfort. The procedure produces attractive
gums that make your smile look healthier and more attractive.
